The four “Show Awards” are selected by a special group of judges:

Festival visitors vote for their favorite boat in each class.
A minimum of three vessels are required for the WBF to establish a class.
Classes may be added/deleted at the Festival Committee’s discretion.
In all award categories there are no criteria of the judging. The judging is subjective and based on what the judge feels is the best in class and show. However, a previous year Best of Show is not eligible for Best of Show the following year.
An Event for the Ages
June 4; 10am – 5pm
The Third Annual Balboa Yacht Club Wooden Boat Festival will launch at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016. You won’t want to miss this unique event featuring exceptional wooden boats on land and in the water.
The free event is open to the public and attracts nearly 3,000 people to enjoy the marine art, People’s Choice awards for best-in-class vessels, delicious food, lively music and special activities.
A complimentary shuttle runs all day for convenient, free off-site parking. Enjoy a day filled with fun on the waterfront in appreciation of the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of privately owned boats of all sizes, power and sail.
